. Similarity

  1) With high-carbon content, both graphitized petroleum coke (GPC)and graphite electrode can be used for carburizing of foundry like ductile iron and gray iron.

  2) Both size can be classified into 1-5mm, 0.2-1mm or customized

  3) Appearance is black.

.Differences

  1. The raw material is different,

Raw material of Graphitized petroleum coke is Calcined petroleum coke(CPC), CPC undergoes graphitization at high temperature of 2800 in Acheson furnace or Graphitized vertical furnace ,abut graphite electrode Particle derived from graphite electrode scrap. 

  1. Production Procedure is different.

 3 Spec is different

      Fixed carbon of graphite electrode Particle can reach 99.5%min.Usually it’s 99%min for GPC. Other content like ash and V.M can be much lower.
