Introduction of iron-based catalyst
The iron-based catalyst, known as "iron based catalyst" in English, is an early catalyst used in the research of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. It has attracted wide attention due to its abundant reserves and low cost.
Classification
It can be divided into two categories according to the target products: low-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis iron-based catalysts and high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis iron-based catalysts.
Characteristics
- Wide operating temperature range: It has a wide operating temperature range (210 - 350°C). Even at relatively high reaction temperatures, the methane selectivity can remain relatively low, offering great flexibility in product selection.
- High catalytic activity: Under conditions close to room temperature, the conversion rate and chemical selectivity of catalyzing the conversion of nitro compounds to amino compounds are as high as 99%, and the TOF value is as high as 8898 h⁻¹, which is dozens of times that of many current catalysts of the same type.
- Good stability: For example, the polymeric iron complex poly - Fe5 - PCz has excellent stability and nearly perfect Faraday efficiency.
Preparation Method
The preparation methods of different types of iron-based catalysts vary. For example, the preparation method of an iron-based catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis includes obtaining a precipitation slurry through a co-precipitation reaction between an aqueous solution of iron salts, copper salts, and cobalt salts and a precipitant. Then, the product is dried and impregnated in a solution containing a certain element . Finally, the catalyst is obtained by calcination. Moreover, a silicon compound solution is introduced during the co-precipitation reaction and/or before adjusting the pH value.
